Jiffy Lube Giftcard Giveaway!
Have you heard of "Keeping My Ride Alive"? Well, let me tell you a litte bit about it. It is a website set up by Jiffy Lube that helps to educate on ways to easily maintain your vehicle. On this website, you are able to look through photos and stories posted by other readers. You can also upload your own stories and photos to share with others.Check out this video above about a man who has kept his car running over 400,000 miles. Can you imagine? He says the key to long car life is to have it regularly serviced!
Many drivers are trying to keep their vehicles longer and are looking for ways to extend the life of their car. Jiffy Lube International recently conducted a survey that revealed that drivers know regular maintenance can extend the life of their vehicle, but they are looking for more out of their maintenance experience. 9 out of 10 surveyed say that having other vehicle fluids and parts checked during regular maintenance is a convenient way to preserve the vehicle's value. Just about 1 in 5 think the most important thing when having an oil change is to have multiple services performed in one visit. Around 59% want their oil changed in 30 minutes or less.
Jiffy Lube offers their Jiffy Lube Signature Service® Oil Change which fits these needs. This service includes:
- Oil & Filter Change
- Changing, inspecting, checking/filling and cleaning key vehicle parts and fluids.
If you haven't checked out the "Keeping My Ride Alive" site, be sure to do that and "Like" them while you are there. Share your vehicle story with the other readers ("Share Your Story" tab) and be sure to read some of theirs. You may get some useful tips along the way.
Jiffy Lube is also offering two of my readers a $35 Gift Card to try out their services. There are two things you need to do to be entered to win. First, visit "Keeping My Ride Alive" and come back here and comment on which mileage category your car(s) fall under. This allows others to see your car's accomplishment. Second, fill out the form below.
Febreze Home Collection Review & $15 Walmart Giveaway!

I recently had the opportunity to try out some of Febreze's new products. Two of which were the Flameless Luminary & the No-Spill Wood Diffuser. Let me tell you a bit about them.
These flameless luminaries have the beauty of a flickering candle and a calming scent that is long lasting. It comes with a reuseable base which makes it easy to change scents as well as the shades. The look to them is very elegant and soothing. I like that I can put it in pretty much any room and it looks and smells great!No-Spill Wood Diffuser

As you can see from the picture above, the diffuser is a simple solution to home fragrance that is somewhat kid and pet safe. I have a kid and several cats so for me, this is a great thing. I am always worried about having flame candles for obvious reasons and I can't use the heated diffusers because my cats get curious and tend to hurt their paws. Something like this is right up my alley.
If you are interested in learning more about the Febreze Home Collection, you can visit their Facebook page or their Walmart page.
Now that you have heard a little bit about their newest products, Febreze Home Collection & MyBlogSpark is offering a $15 Walmart Gift Card to one of my readers to go buy & try your own selection from their collection. All you have to do is fill in the form below and you are entered to win.

Here’s a Quick Way to Prevent Diabetes Through Blood Glucose Test
Having diabetes means having your pancreas affected by Type 2 diabetes. Our blood stream contains glucose, which is converted sugar from what we eat. As soon as it’s in our blood cells, the insulin secreted by the pancreas makes it a sort-of fuel which our body utilizes. If you have Type 2 diabetes, it will be difficult for you to produce and use this insulin. Your body’s cells have a hard time looking for this glucose even if it’s all over your body.
Type 2 diabetes is a serious condition, and because of that the American Diabetes Association is always looking for information about it. With 23.6 million individuals living with diabetes, many have come to associate America with extreme unhealthiness.90% of these patients are suffering from Type 2 diabetes. Type 2 diabetes and the issue of being overweight can be present in several members of a family. The nervous system and the internal organs might end up with irreparable damage if there is an overabundance of glucose in the body.
Life with Diabetes
The easiest and the most efficient way to treat your Type 2 diabetes is through healthy living practices on a daily basis. Among these practices include eating healthy and engaging in exercise. The healthy practices that you regularly do will have an enormous lasting and positive effect on you. To avoid health complications, many doctors have recommended that you ensure that the glucose levels in your body are within the appropriate range.
The blood glucose level in your body can easily be monitored simply by using the finger prick test. Such a test is as good as an HbA1c test when it comes to checking and tracking your glucose fluctuations. This HbA1c test is able to determine the levels of glycated hemoglobin in your body, as well as know if the glucose levels are on the high side. The average level which diabetics maintain, as per the A1c test results, are at seven percent. One can experience a 40% reduction in the possibility of developing risks if people simply ensure that their a1c levels are kept at seven percent.
An Iron Grip Control
If your a1c levels are below this seven percent mark, studies indicate that this could result into something bad. One particular study done in Lancet and Swedish Medical Center located in Seattle, showed that there is a higher death risk for people who use insulin regularly and those who have a1c median levels. On the contrary, there have been many tests that show that it is also healthy to keep your a1c levels at 7%. According to accredited endocrinologist Matt Davies, the seven percent maintaining level of a1c is all right; still, physicians need to consider their patient’s medical history even before they prescribe the treatment.

How to Make a Chocolate Cake in a Coffee Mug!
- Coffee Mug (Large mug makes less mess - Small mug may overflow and make a small mess in your microwave)
- 4 Tbsp of Flour
- 4 Tbsp Sugar
- 2 Tbsp Baking Cocoa (You can also use the same amount of dry pudding mix if you don't want chocolate.)
- 1 Egg
- 4 Tbsp Milk
- 3 Tbsp Oil (I use applesauce instead.)
- Small Splash of Vanilla
Instructions:
- Get any coffee mug of your choice.
- Add dry ingredients to mug and mix well.
- Add the egg and mix thoroughly.
- Pour in the milk and oil (applesauce) and mix well.
- Add vanilla and mix again.
- Put mug in the microwave for 3 minutes. The cake will rise over the top of the mug.
This was a great, yummy project for me and my 2 year old to do together. I added the ingredients and he stirred. He had so much fun watching it rise in the microwave and then of course there was a delicious end to it! As you can see, I used a large mug so it didn't fill the cup when it was done but it was plenty for the two of us!
Thanks to Jackie for passing this recipe along.
When you try this recipe, come back here and let me know what you thought of it!
